The past couple weeks have had much above normal temperatures – close to freezing most days. We have been taking advantage of this warm spell – got the majority of our seed cleaning done, and cleaned up a couple of grain bags of canola. It is much nicer working in these warmer conditions compared to the temperatures we normally seem to have when we are doing this! These grain bags are 10 feet wide and 300 feet long – they each hold around 280 mt of canola. The empty bag gets rolled up and taken to a gathering location where it will eventually get picked up and taken out to be recycled.
As the calendar turns to December, we are making sure we have everything complete that we need to get done prior to the Christmas break. We usually take holidays during Christmas and New Years – it is a slower time around the farm and nice to have everyone stay home and spend time with family.
