For the week of July 7th – 13th
Its that time of year – we finished our fungicide spraying, and now we have done all we can to make sure the crop has everything it needs to get through to harvest. From here on out it is up to Mother Nature to nurture the crop and do her part!
We did end up with some rain early last week, this time it was more in the south (12-15mm) and less in the north (5-9mm). We had one hot day, but the rest of the week we had temperatures in the high teens to low 20’s – which is ideal for the crop when it is in it’s reproductive stage. The earlier planted canola is starting to lose flower, and the earliest wheat and barley has finished flowering and is starting to fill.
This next week looks to be dry, but cool once again. The next chance of moisture is over the next weekend – which would be perfect time if it was to verify.
