For the week of September 22nd – 28th
Weather has been excellent this week. We managed to finish the wheat that was left, and got a good chunk of the canola off. The canola is actually testing so dry that it’s almost too dry to test! We are now 75.3% complete
The weather has been favorable – sunny and warm. The winds have been on the high side, but we can’t complain.
We have been moving grain around and filling all the smaller bins in the different bin yards. We are down to big bins in the main yard and a few smaller bins in a different bin yard. Should have enough space for the balance of the crop.
While the cereals surprised us to the upside – canola has been a little lower than expected. Still pleased with the results, just not the type of yield that we expected after we saw what the cereals were able to do.
This next week looks favorable as well and we should be able to make some more good progress – as we approach October, we are keenly aware of any shift in the weather pattern and what that could mean!
