We got both seeding units in the field late last week and did about 1,000 acres between the two of them. Got a few issues figured out and made sure everything functioning properly.
The weather is still on the cool side – we have had single-digit highs and overnight lows in the -2 to -7 C range. The longer-term forecast is for mid-teens for daily highs and overnight lows to stay above freezing.
There is still no sign of precipitation in the near-to-mid range forecast. As early as this is I don’t think anyone would be upset if we had a week of wet weather…..for now, the soil moisture is satisfactory and we are putting seeds into moisture and getting a good seedbed.
